WHAT IS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE?
A social enterprise is simply a venture or business that is developed to benefit the community, where any profits are reinvested and not paid to share holders.

All of these features of our life in Wolverton started with someone’s idea or by identifying a need within the community. Whether it is to preserve and communicate the history of the Town or to allow the community to have a say in the way their community develops, Social Enterprise can be the ideal vehicle for change.


IS IT FOR ME?
It might be for you. First you need the idea.

Last year, when challenged, Wolverton residents came up with about 40 ideas for a social enterprise. Look at the list below to see how varied and imaginative some of them were. Of these 40+ ideas, about 15 were developed further.

Wolverton Unlimited was able to help people to do that, although only to an initial stage.

HOW CAN I START?
A good starting point would be to share your idea with someone else. Wolverton Unlimited has an adviser who you can contact and talk to, just to get an unbiased view of your idea.


MKCE will offer you professional advice on how to develop your idea, where to get funding, how to set up a legal structure and links with other Social Enterprises in Milton Keynes and wider networks and much more…..
